I love it here! The ambiance is great, the staff are fantastic, and the food is sooooo good and very well priced. I've never left here unsatisfied.
What a great breakfast experience. I would definitely go back when we return. The muffuletta was amazing.
Interesting food selection. Pleasant service. Clean and safe environment. Just stopped through as passing by between my journey.
I can confidently say that my dining experience at Butchertown has been one of the best in a while. Everything we ordered: Roasted Olives, Bourbon Barrel Smoked Pork Bellies, Rotisserie Chicken and the Burgers were all incredibly delicious!!! On top of this, service was spot on. We got to the restaurant early so we sat at the bar until they opened the Lola Room. Let me say that this room is absolutely adorable! It has its own bar, lounges along the room, a mini stage with a piano and some tables on the side. It's dim and intimate yet very comfortable. Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. This would be another go to spot if a lived in Louiseville. Two thumbs way up!!
I really like Butchertown Grocery and have had pleasant dining experiences here. On tonight we came out for a work dinner so there were 10 of us in our group. Our server was friendly and helpful with choosing pre dinner drinks. I had an amaretto sour, my go to and it was heaven. For dinner I did the steak frites with fries. Steak was juicy and tender. Dessert I tried the apple pie with ice cream. It was just as yummy as I'd hoped for it to be. We also got beignets for the group. There is something so divine about powder sugar on fried dough. It just melts in your mouth. This is a great intimate dining experience but they are equally as good for groups too. There are so many great spots to eat around town and Butchertown Grocery will remain on my list of places for dining.
Place is very cool. We had brunch and it was excellent. Plate that you see is Huevos Rancheros con Chorizo. Flavorful and delicious!!! I have to come back and try their other dishes. Easy street parking. Excellent service, friendly professional. We sat at the bar. Menu is not very long, but it has something for every taste. Portions are not huge. So depending on appetite that could increase your per person price. Prices are ok. It is a higher end place IMHO. With that said, it has an excellent ambiance that is higher end as well. Great place.
I had the pleasure of watching Chef Bobby make gnocchi on Valentine's Day @ Jeptha Creed and taste his beyond amazing food. So today just an average Monday for some I decide to celebrate my rare day off and dive in and find out more. There are so many different things on the menu I wanted to try; but, I decided on the Pig & Goat Burger. You had me at Goat Cheese! Oh my goodness, heavenly, pig heaven. The crisp spicy arugula against the creaminess of the goat cheese WOW. TRULY MINDBLOWING!!! And the pomme frites with garlic aioli, shut the front door. So divine. I couldn't stop. I took a scone to go. They only have pastries during the day time. This day was a scone, banana nut muffin and beignets (which I've heard are spectacular, however I have on black pants and I don't wanna look like a cast member from Scarface. I'll just have to come back. Thank you Chef Bobby.
Delicious! My boyfriend and I went here for a celebratory dinner. He got the gnocchi and I got the salmon. The gnocchi was better of the two dishes. It was very rich and creamy. It was heaven to eat. The salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we had a maple sundae with cake. It was quite big, but so delicious we had no problem finishing it between the two of us. The meal was phenomenal! It has been one of the best meals I've eaten in Louisville. The atmosphere was okay. The tables each had flowers where were quite pretty. But the seat I was in had such a bad sun glare. I asked the waiter if they could close the curtains further due to the glare but half way down was as far ad they closed. We were there around 6pm and it seemed like a common problem that they have yet to fix. If I didnt have to wear sunglasses for part of the meal, it would have been 5 stars.
Somewhat accidentally ate here on a first date. It is definitely a place I wouldn't do again on a first date, but only because of the prices. It's worth every penny, but at least in my world, there's a lot of first dates that don't go anywhere ;) We were going to Lola (bar upstairs) but there was a fundraiser so we opted for drinks, which turned into food, downstairs. I had one of the cocktails from negroni week. Our server was amazing. They'd brought bread out before we ordered any food. My date ordered a burger, which and I quote "was the best burger I've had in my life." And that's probably saying something. How many burgers have you had in your life? Can't wait to go back again and give it a real go around.
Another amazing meal in Louisville, this time at the Butchertown Grocery. No, this isn't a grocery store. But a fine dining bistro serving superb farm-to-table, New American/French cuisine. We start with the Tuna Tartare, a unique preparation with capers, egg yolk and dill pollen. Next up the three of us share the insanely yummy Pecan Salad, consisting mixed green, jalapeno bleu cheese ice cream (fabulous!) and candied pecans. For entrees, we order the super-rich Gnocchi with oyster mushrooms and parmigiano-reggiano and Cavatelli with chopped lobster, clams & shrimp and roasted tomato. The Hanger Steak Frites was cooked to perfection, tender and so tasty. For sides, we order the Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower, which were the perfect accompaniment for our meal. On Fat Tuesday, it was appropriate to order the Banana Bread Pudding and the Beignets. Great pacing, excellent service, exquisite food and a fun and energetic venue. Can't wait to return. Fantastic!
